About New Directions
New Directions Behavioral Health is a full-service behavioral health organization based in the Kansas City area. We have provided Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services since 1978, and introduced behavioral health care carve-out services in 1995.
New Directions provides managed behavioral health care and employee assistance services to one million members nationwide, with a network of credentialed providers in all 50 states and selected international locations. Our client companies include HMO, POS and PPO health plans, self-funded employers, union trusts, local and state governments, and employers across a broad spectrum of industries.
Our mission is to enhance the well being of our clients and members through access to quality behavioral health care services, support and solutions. This mission drives our approach to services, which includes a unique focus on access to care, combining early identification strategies with proactive prevention and intervention services.
With a reputation for clinical excellence and collaboration, New Directions seeks to use the full continuum of clinical resources available, and frequently works with local providers to augment the continuum of care.
New Directions is fully accredited by NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance) for its BCBSKC HMO business and by URAC for utilization management.
